Virginia Fire Department has an opportunity for you!
Career Exploration Opportunity
Exploring is Learning for Life’s career education program for young men and women who are at least 15 (and have completed the 8th grade) and not yet 21 years old. Adults are selected by the participating organization for involvement in the program. Color, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, ethnic background, economic status and citizenship are not criteria for participation.
This program will give you the opportunity to try out a career before you spend big money going to college for something you may find you do not like or it may reinforce that this is the career for you!
By taking advantage of this program you will learn skills in firefighting, medicine, rescue, public relations, community service, and interpersonal skills which are accomplished through education and hands on opportunities to include ride along. Meetings are once a month.

What is Exploring?
Exploring leaders volunteer their time to provide real-world career experiences for young adults. Exploring in not about lectures and slide shows- it’s about gaining practical experience in a career field. The result is a program of activities that helps youth pursue their special interests, grown and develop.
